Scene 3: Grave Robbers

Scene 3: Grave Robbers

Synopsis

In the vestry, we are surprised by two grave visitors who quite literally ‘give us a hand’ to understand one of the darker areas of Sunderland’s history.  But once they flee in haste, we learn that every crime must have its punishment, as a judge and prosecutor put our teenage guide and our audience on trial, evoking echoes of past stories of the room’s use as a small court.  Will our audience escape before they are sentenced to deportation to Australia?
