Scene 2: Robert Gray

Scene 2: Robert Gray

Synopsis

In the main entranceway of the Holy Trinity Church, we meet a Nurse beneath the memorial to Robert Gray, who informs us that we have revisited the era of the cholera outbreak that swept parts of the area during the 1830s.  After some confusion as to the reason of our visit, we meet a cholera patient to find out a bit more about the illness before Rev. Robert Gray himself comes to life and provides us with insight into his life and times as a selfless and highly regarded servant to the poor, sick and needy of Sunderland.
